Porch Enclosure vs. Screen Room Enclosure

Many people have a concrete slab in their back patio and are looking to build an enclosure on it whether it’s a screen room or a porch room enclosure. There is a big difference between the two and I will compare and contrast the two different types of porch enclosures. The more common option is the screen room enclosure but the more versatile option is the porch enclosure with acrylic sliders.

Screen Room Enclosure

As mentioned earlier, screen rooms are the most popular option when thinking about building on your back patio pavers/concrete slabs. Screen room enclosures are built from aluminum panels, kickplates, downspouts, screening, and a screen door. Whether you’re looking to replace a few aluminum panels, rescreen, or need a screen room built from scratch, Johnson Aluminum Products has got you covered. The major difference between the screen room and the porch enclosure is that the screen room doesn’t have acrylic sliders.

Porch Enclosure

A porch enclosure is very similar to the screen room enclosure, but the porch enclosure is used as a room enclosure and a regular porch. When you add acrylic sliders to an existing screen room and insulted kickplates, it becomes more insulated and enclosed. People like the porch enclosure because it gives homeowners the versatility to have the room insulated with A/C or open the acrylic sliders to let in the fresh air. The porch enclosure is also great for when it rains and you need to enclose the space. Many people use porch enclosures as a spare room, home office, craft room, home gym, etc.
