What’s the difference between a Sunroom and a Screen Room?

Many people often wonder what the difference between a sunroom and a screen room is. There are major differences between the two and people often have different preferences between the two. Many people buy their first home and have a concrete slab on their back patio that they are looking to build upon. In this blog post, I will be discussing the difference between the sunroom and screen room so you can make a more informed decision on what you want to be built on your patio.

Screen Room

The most common type of enclosure people build on their patio is the screen room. A screen room enclosure is very helpful for keeping away annoying bugs and protecting you from rain. The screen room consists of kickplates, screening, screen door, and aluminum panel framing. If you’re looking to enjoy a breezy evening without the hassle of annoying bugs, I suggest getting a screen room.

Sunroom

The sunroom is similar to the screen room in that it has aluminum framing and screening, but over the screens, there are acrylic sliders. Acrylic sliders are a great way to enclose your patio area so that you can use this area as a spare room, home office, craft room, etc. Acrylic sliders give you the versatility to either open them to enjoy a breeze like a screen room or close the sliders to keep the room insulated. The sunrooms come with acrylic sliders, a 3-inch prime door, insulated kickplates, screening, and an aluminum roof.
